What are the limitations of Liquid Notes from a musical point of view?

Last Updated: Dec 22, 2013 05:50PM CET
This article talks about limitations of Liquid Notes from a musical point of view, such as genre, melody and rhythm.

Quick answer: Liquid Notes shouldn't be used for complex music (e.g. classical music) and can't change rhythm.

Limitations of Liquid Notes

Liquid Notes is based on a powerful harmonic analysis for your MIDI arrangements that atomizes even very complex multi-track songs and detects their various musical elements and their correlations. However, it also has its limitations from a musical point of view.

Here are two of things you can't do with Liquid Notes:
  1. Liquid Notes can’t change the rhythmic nature of your composition. The software shifts or creates tones, and also cuts notes, at chord boundaries.
  2. Liquid Notes was not made with an emphasis on handling very complex music such as classical pieces. Naturally, the best results are obtained for MIDI arrangements that can be classified into harmony, melody and bass tracks. This is the case for most modern music genres.

Operating Liquid Notes within these boundaries will ensure that you achieve great results when making music.
