Hi Aubert,

Thanks for reaching out to report this issue, and apologies for the trouble experienced.

The description you provide may be interpreted as the task for the Liquid Notes application not being closed when quitting the application. This would result in you not being able to restart the application unless you either kill this task manually or restart your machine.

Here is what we'd like you to do:

(1) After a restart of you machine, open Liquid Notes and make sure the application is running.

(2) Open the Windows Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then clicking 'Start Task Manager'. Click on the tab 'Applications' and look for 'Liquid Notes'.

(3) Close Liquid Notes by either clicking on the 'x' in the program window or use 'Menu' > 'Quit Liquid Notes'.

(4) Switch to the Task Manager, and check if in tab 'Applications' you still find an entry 'Liquid Notes'.

Should #4 reveal that the application is still running, we have a clue as to what is happening on your machine.

All the best,

Thks for your prompt answer,

I did what you request, and after step #3 Liquid Notes is removed from Applications tab of the task manager immediatly after I quit the application.

I now see that it is not necessary to restart my PC, but need to wait exactly 5 mins then Liquid Notes is able to restart !!!

Thks & Brgds

In addition the following process "javaw.exe" with following command line :
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_65\bin\javaw.exe" -Dsun.sound.useNewAudioEngine=true -Djava.util.Arrays.useLegacyMergeSort=true -Xmx1024M -jar "C:\Program Files\Liquid Notes\Liquid Notes.exe"

remain active exactly 5 mins after I quit Liquid Notes

Thanks for the additional information!

We have seen such a behavior with two other users on Win 7/8 to date, which points to some sort of temporary malfunction or misbehavior by Java. It leads to Java not terminating the application for a couple of minutes albeit the command to close it has been clearly received, which you can monitor by the user interface of Liquid Notes being closed.
In other words, as the software is entirely written in Java the application layer closes fine by the Java Runtime Environment remains stuck for 5 minutes or so.

With the other users we haven't been able to locate the cause of this behavior of Java yet. I'll have the information run by our software development team to see what we may be able to analyze on your machine.

Please be patient, this problem is as annoying to us as it is to you!

All the best,
