When starting Liquid Notes I only get the logo on my screen but nothing else happens.

This article talks about Liquid Notes not starting properly after having installed from scratch or upgraded to a new version of the software.

Liquid Notes and Java detection

Several users have reported an issue with Liquid Notes only presenting the splash screen after installing the software for the first time. Even after waiting for some minutes the software will not start, you will not be able to get to the main screen of Liquid Notes.

Here is how this may look like on your machine:




This problem may also appear if you make an update to a newer version of Liquid Notes, however it hasn't been reported by a user yet.

It has been traced down to an issue with Java's reporting mechanism for its version number to applications such as Liquid Notes: in many cases Java doesn't report back the correct version number to Liquid Notes, which may result in our software trying to launch on an outdated version of Java on your system - error!

However, there may be other causes for this problem.
 

Getting the latest Java update

It is important that your machine runs the latest version of Java for Liquid Notes to function. You can manually download and install Java on your machine using the links below. 

Find the latest version of Java here:
After you have upgraded to the latest version of Java, simply start Liquid Notes again!
