Installation and set up of Liquid Notes for LiveThis is a simple quick start guide for installation of Liquid Notes for Live. The software requires Ableton Live 9 and Max for Live to be installed to function correctly.
Follow the steps below for correct installation and setup of the application.
Installation on Mac OS X and WindowsOpen the .dmg (Mac) or .zip (Win) file you downloaded from our website and follow the on-screen instructions for installation of Liquid Notes for Live.
If Ableton Live is installed and your Live user library folder is set to the Default Path, the installation is complete.
If you use a custom library folder, it may happen that Liquid Notes cannot detect it. Copy “lnBridge.amxd” and “lnBridgeGlobal.amxd” into your Custom Live user library Folder (see the Library section of the Live settings to locate your user library).

Selecting clips and opening filesAfter you have completed the installation of Liquid Notes for Live, you can then proceed onto selecting clips and opening of files in Liquid Notes for Live.
To select clips in Live, choose from the options below.
Option 1: Selecting clips by one click only (recommended)There is an easy way to select all clips in Live by one click only. To do this, select the scene in Live as shown in the picture hereafter:
This selects all clips of that particular track automatically for you, and makes them ready for importing them into Liquid Notes for Live.
Option 2: Selecting clips one at a timeIf you wish to be more selective for which clips to import into Liquid Notes for Live, you may select those clips manually. Click on a clip to select it, or press Cmd+Click in Mac OS X and Strg+Click in Windows.

Opening clips in Liquid Notes for LiveIn order to Open these clips in Liquid Notes for Live, launch the application and therein click on the button “Get Clips” or go to “File -> Get Clips”.
That’s it! Your Liquid Notes project is all set and you are ready to go. You can now manipulate your Ableton Live tracks via the Liquid Notes editing functions.
And, you can export your results from Liquid Notes by choosing File → Export MIDI File... and import it into Ableton Live by dragging the saved file onto Ableton Live.
Note: If you click on Play in Liquid Notes, it plays all the imported data. Notes are transmitted to Live and Live sounds them. However, Live will not start its own playback function. So you cannot hear any clips in Live which have not been imported to Liquid Notes. If you click on Play in Live, Liquid Notes and Live will start playback simultaneously. You will hear every clip in Live.
